Conducting and Analyzing the Subject-Object Interview with Deb Helsing and Annie Howell: March 18-20, 2013

Description: This 3-Day program is designed to train participants in how to conduct and analyze the Subject-Object Interview (SOI). The SOI is an interview tool designed specifically to generate data about how a person is making meaning according to Robert Kegan’s constructive-developmental theory as described in The Evolving Self (Harvard University Press, 1983) and In Over Our Heads (Harvard University Press, 1994). Successfully completing the program will allow you to use the interview tool to fit your professional or research purposes.

Participants should be familiar with the tenets of Kegan’s theory but need not have any prior experience with the SOI or with Kegan and Lahey’s Immunity-to-Change™ Process.

This workshop will be run by Annie Howell, Ed.D. and Deborah Helsing, Ed.D. (See attached Facilitators’ Biographies.)

  • $1500.00 (a 10% discount can be offered to graduate students.)
  • This fee includes copies of A Guide to the Subject-Object Interview (by Lahey, Souvaine, Kegan, Goodman, and Felix). It does not include meals or lodging.

SOI Certification and ongoing SOI coaching:

  • Participants can apply for certification as “SOI Reliable Scorers” by reliably analyzing and scoring an established set of interviews after the workshop. Applying for certification and is an additional fee of $300.00 and includes 1 hour of consulting/debriefing via phone.
  • Ongoing coaching/consulting is offered at $200.00 per hour.

Payment is fully refundable up to 20 days before the start of the workshop, less a 10% processing fee; it is not refundable thereafter, but can be fully applied (less 10%) to a subsequent workshop and any money paid is transferable to other individuals within the same organization.
