Great insights Vic! It reminds me of the TED talk by social psychologist Amy Cuddy “Your body language shapes who you are.”

Since taking the facilitator training a few years ago I have been using ITC and the concepts behind it in many different ways. ITC it is now a regular part of my own ongoing development and the development work I do with others, mostly in the context of a variety of criminal justice systems. However, I do not have enough dialogue partners or opportunities to work with others on this, so option 1 and 2 are very appealing to me. I had a chance to meet up with you Lisa the last time I was in town and that was very helpful. For some reason I learn things from meeting with people that I cannot learn from reading.

One current question I have is what cultural or group immunity to change would have to shift or developmental challenge would have to be met for the people of Oregon to vote Yes on taking the death penalty out of our constitution.

To make a trip from Oregon cost and time effective for me it would probably need to be option 2, however I wonder if you could work the spirit of option 1 into option 2 in some way? I also wonder could you add on a second half-day or cross the event over two days – I think it helps to have people sleep on things if you are trying to build something that will go somewhere after the event is over.

The race option 3 is also clearly critical in the field of criminal justice, but at the moment I do not see a direct connection to my current work for that option – but I will give it more thought. I helped to organize a two day gathering for a cross section of about 60 staff from all levels of the Oregon Department on of Corrections on “Overcoming Racism and Sexism. We brought in Lee Mun Wah to lead and facilitate us. That event was extraordinarily beneficial and life changing for me and many others.

I am not free on Sept 24 so that date would not work for me.

If I were to come to a reunion I would be willing to contribute a case study or something else from my experience.

    Best regards,
    Tom O’Connor
